Monday August 31, 2020 Unlike in Conquest mode or Campaign mode, Research Facilities are able to be used by both the Empire and Alliance, in Skirmish Mode, no matter what faction, all factions advance tech the same way the Empire does it in Conquest or Campaign mode. Though they do have an important purpose, if playing as the Empire in Conquest or Campaign Mode, it's generally best to only have one Research Facility on only one planet since having multiple ones is just using up structure space. In conquest mode, Research Facilities were only buildable by the Empire, and that purpose was to advance tech levels to acquire more units and troops.
Research Facilities were structures that could advance Technology Levels for the Empire.
